On Wednesday, the movie trade was saddened by the passing of Nitin Desai, a widely known movie artwork director, who was found deceased at his studio. Abhishek Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Madhur Bhandarkar, Boman Irani and others have posted their condolences on social media.

Sanjay Dutt took to Twitter and tweeted, “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Nitin Desai. A brilliant art director and a good friend, his contribution to Indian cinema has been monumental. My thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Parineeti wrote, “Heartbreaking to hear about Nitin sir. #NitinDesai. His groundbreaking work, wisdom and artistry will be remembered forever. Rest in peace sir.”

Sharing his condolences, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar wrote, “Just heard the devastating news about the passing of multiple National award-winner Art Director Nitin Desai. It’s hard to believe. Had the privilege of working with him on four remarkable films. #TrafficSignal, #fashion , #jail & #InduSarkar His immense talent and extrovert personality made every project unforgettable. Indian cinema has lost a true gem. Heartfelt condolences to his family members . We will miss you Dada. #OmShanti.”

Actor Boman Irani wrote, “Saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Nitin Chandrakant Desai. His gorgeous sets in Jodha Akbar, Munnabhai, Lagaan, Devdas… marked his eye for detail and gave the wide screen the splendour it deserved. Will be missed sorely.”

Abhishek Bachchan additionally took to Twitter and wrote, “Very sad to hear about the passing of Nitin Desai. We worked on so many films together. Was such a fine artist and a gentleman. May god grant him and his family peace.”
